Abstract
Currently the demographic structure of the population is changing, people’s lifespan is extending. To cope with these changes, the challenge will be to guarantee a longer and healthier life. Therefore, the focus in this paper will be on analyzing the quantity and the quality of the length of individual’s total lifespan using several indicators such as mortality rates, life expectancy as well as healthy life expectancy, which requires the availability of mortality and
morbidity data.
To fulfil this purpose, the paper attempts to elaborate a deep study about mortality and morbidity based on the exploitation of the third and the fourth wave of a large nationally representative database: the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey MICS.
