CREAD and CRSTRA are working together to organise a workshop to discuss the implementation of a national strategy for the development of saffron in Algeria and its international marketing. The event took place at CERIST (Ben Aknoun, Algiers) from 2 to 3 June 2024.
This national workshop is the culmination of two research projects, the MASSIRE project and the SAFFROMFOOD project, coordinated respectively by the two research centres, CREAD and CRSTRA. This event represents a relevant opportunity for our country to bring together the various players in the saffron industry in Algeria, as well as different sectors. It will also enable us to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with developing and marketingof this spice with its high added value and strong impact on the sustainable development of the regions.
