Workshop : Engaging with Open Science for Agriculture Using NASA Climate Data

CREAD, through its Agriculture, Territory and Environment Division, organised the second hybrid workshop entitled «  with Open Science for Agriculture Using NASA Climate Data »  from 24 to 27 June.

During these 04 days, several presentations were given, Dr. Arthur Endslev, Research Scientist, University of Montana, gave a presentation entitled, « Introduction to the Open Climate Science for Agriculture Curricuml » Dr. Steven Crawford, senior program Executive for Scientific Data and Compution, Chief Science office, Nasa, Dr. Molly Brown, University of Maryland and 6th Grain.

The workshop consisted of practical simulations based on climate data, carried out by Dr. Arthur Endsley, Research Scientist, University of Montana; Walid Ouaret, PhD Candidate, University of Maryland; Dr. Ghiles

Kaci, Professor of Agronomy and Ecology at the University of Boumerdes; and Dounia Bourtache, M.S. Student, Computer Science, University of Boumerdes.

Python training was given in the morning by Dr. Arthur Endelsy, and presentations were given in the afternoon by Dr. Krishna Vadrevu, Walid Ouaret and Mohsen Nabil.

A large number of researchers from various institutions, including ASAL, the University of Bouira, the University of Skikda, the CRAT in Constantine, the University of Boumerdès and the USTHB, also took part in the workshop, which provided an opportunity for enriching scientific debate.
