NATAE project, CREAD activities

As part of the NATAE project, activities were carried out by CREAD from February 3 to 6 to support the implementation of the agroecological transition in the project’s target area in Tizi-Ouzou.

1. Training on Aromatic and Medicinal Plants.

A training session was organized for women from an agricultural cooperative. Led by Mr. Belkadi Mohamed, an expert in aromatic and medicinal plants, the session aimed to boost the sector by teaching cultivation techniques and highlighting the therapeutic benefits of these plants.

2. Demonstration of Agroecological Practices in Olive Growing.

A demonstration session was held to present agroecological techniques specific to olive growing, with a focus on pruning methods. This session was led by Mr. Belhadi Aissa, a researcher at CREAD, and Mr. Mekhmoukhen Arezki, an experienced master pruner. The objective was to share practical knowledge to improve olive cultivation methods from an agroecological perspective.

These activities aim to strengthen the skills of local actors, particularly farmers and cooperatives, to promote a transition towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
